NEXT STEPS

"We are here to help you stand up for yourself. We represent your interests first and foremost."

In case of a Loss

What you should do when your home has been damaged by a fire, flood, windstorm or another catastrophe

  1. Call Us First -  We will provide you with the proper guidance to ensure proper loss recovery and report your claim for you. If you have already reported your claim or if your claim is already in progress, we can still help. Call us for a free claim consultation.

  2. Make Temporary Repairs - Without risking your own safety, take steps to prevent further damage. Boarding up broken windows, waterproofing openings in the roof or walls and removing water from a saturated carpet, if possible, can significantly reduce subsequent damage. Keep an accurate record of your repair expenditures. We can retain vendors to handle this for you.

  3. Take photos, preserve evidence, malfunctioning or broken parts.

  4. Protect Personal Property - Take photos. Protect your personal property from further damage. Separate items that may be cleaned and/or repaired. If you have this line of coverage with your insurance company, check with your public adjuster before discarding any items that you plan to claim as damaged. We can retain vendors to handle this for you.

  5. Temporary Housing - If you can no longer live in your home, find temporary housing for your family. If you have this line of coverage with your insurance company, do not enter into long-term leases until you talk to a claim representative. Keep all receipts associated with temporary housing, meals and other miscellaneous expenses. We can assist you with finding a temporary place to stay and/or live while repairs are being made.

  6. Inventory - If you have this line of coverage with your insurance company, prepare a room-by-room inventory of your damage and your damaged property. Descriptions of damaged property should include quantity, brand names, model numbers, age, purchase price and place of purchase. We will assist you with the necessary documentation, compiling inventories and researching the replacement cost pricing your insurance company will require.
