Matt is an accomplished insurance adjuster and business executive with over 25 years of corporate, small business and technology start-up experience serving in management and c-level roles.
Matt has held Public Adjuster and Insurance Producer licenses in over 10 states states along the east coast. He has handled over 1000 insurance claims resulting from fires, floods, hurricanes and many other causes. Matt currently focuses his practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York. A graduate of West Virginia University, Matthew earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and SPPA (Senior Professional Public Adjuster) and CPPA (Certified Professional Public Adjuster) designations from the American Institute For Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters "The Institutes" and is working towards an Associate of Claims (AIC) designation.
In 2002 Matt formed a Third Party Administration (TPA) insurance services company to handle claims for Lloyds of London insurance syndicates and Managing General Agents providing property and business interruption insurance to the real estate and hospitality sector.
Additionally, he served as COO for Inland Marine Adjusters and oversaw a large variety of property damage and boiler and machinery claims for the firms insurance company clients, as an Independent Adjuster. Wide ranging experience was gained handling claims for a significant portfolio of insurance company and third party administration clients including: ACE, Affiliated FM, AIG, Arch, Archway, Arran Claims, BB&T Bank, Chubb, Cunningham Lindsay, Firemans Fund, Great American, Legion, Lexington, Lloyds of London, Marsh, NXS, Professional Waranty Corp., Steadfast, Sumitomo, Ward and Zurich Insurance
However, after becoming disheartened with the industry trend to limit coverage and mitigate claim settlements coupled with the Insurance Carriers and neglectful handling of claims and poor customer service, he was ready to make a change and make a difference. We identified that changes in the industry and the attitudes of insurance companies were shifting and that the need for knowledgeable and experienced loss advisors to assist policyholders was becoming more crucial than ever.
Not just to ensure full recovery of their losses, but also guidance and assistance in navigating the increasingly complex insurance policies and claims process. Individuals are dealing with greater demands and increasing workloads both at home and at work. It is often difficult to keep up and the responsibilities can be stressful. That is why it is advantageous to bring in specialists who can focus on your loss recovery while allowing you to concentrate on your other important responsibilities.
Matt knew that his knowledge and expertise of insurance coverage and property claim preparation garnered from his experience working for the Insurance Companies could significantly benefit businesses and homeowners directly with their loss recovery efforts. It was decided that Just Claims Public Adjusters would be formed in 2005 to represent the policyholder (insured) and their interests directly.
